Animal Care Clinic San Luis Obispo Veterinary Hospital

Quality Medicine With a Gentle Touch

The Animal Care Clinic 2011 Open House and Wine and Beer Gala is approaching!  June 12th from 2-6 PM, we will have our doors open for anyone to stop by for wine tasting, hospital tours, educational displays, yummy local food, and a silent auction. See the list of wineries/breweries and silent auction items below!!

This year proceeds will be benefiting Brighten A Corner, American Cancer Society and Guide Dogs of America!

Brighten A Corner MinistriesBrighten A Corner is a local ministry group that finds people or groups in extreme need on the Central Coast and reaches out to help.  Projects often include reorganizing and redecorating, event planning, and landscaping.  ”We can’t cure cancer, or eliminate physical or emotional handicaps, but maybe we can help lighten the load–if only for a short while.”  Employees of Animal Care Clinic have volunteered in the past to do things like painting, yard work, and fence-building.

The American Cancer Society is an organization near to our hearts as we have always been active participants in Relay For Life each year. For more information on the American Cancer Society, click here.  This year we are participating in an American Cancer Society event that is new to the San Luis Obispo area: “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.”  On Saturday, October 22nd 2011 the Paws for the Cause/Animal Care Clinic team will be participating at 9 a.m. for the noncompetitive, 3- to 5-mile events.  If you would like to find out more information, join our team, or donate to our team then please visit our ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Site!

Guide Dogs of America is another group we have fundraised for in previous years.  This group is close to us for a couple reasons.  One, it is a very special thing what this group does for people in need and the things they train these dogs to do is nothing short of amazing!  Two, we have two employees and quite a few clients currently raising guide dog puppies.  Come meet Dr. Evan’s guide dog puppy, Payton, and Practice Administrator’s guide dog puppy, Fayme!

This event has been lots of fun in the past and we are hoping for another good turnout this year!  We are hoping to beat the $5,000 raised last year!  This year we will have a photo booth to take pictures with guide dog puppies as props!  Our silent auction item list is growing everyday and so far has some really cool stuff!  Beautiful prints by local photographers, shadow an Animal Care Clinic doctor for a day, professional baseball pitching lesson with Dodgers’ pitcher Ted Lilly, local kayak tours, Central Coast sport fishing, hand crafted items, awesome gift baskets and of course lots of local wine!  Don’t miss out!!
