Animal Care Clinic San Luis Obispo Veterinary Hospital

Quality Medicine With a Gentle Touch
Apr 21st, 2010

As part of our vision and mission of Animal Care Clinic, community service is very important to us and our involvement in our community. We are always looking for ways we can be of service other than what we supply for our clients everyday.

The Animal Care Clinic 2011 Open House and Wine and Beer Gala is now coming up!  June 12th from 2-6 PM, we will have our doors open for anyone to stop by for wine tasting, hospital tours, educational displays, yummy local food, and a silent auction.  This year proceeds will be benefiting Brighten a Corner, American Cancer Society and Guide Dogs of America.  This event has been lots of fun in the past and we are hoping for another good turnout this year!  This year Saucelito Canyon Vineyards and Tolosa Winery will lead the way as we try to beat the $5,000 raised this year!  Our silent auction item list is growing everyday and so far has some really cool stuff!  Beautiful prints by local photographers, shadow an Animal Care Clinic doctor for a day, Pampered Chef, awesome gift baskets and of course lots of wine!  Don’t miss out!!

The American Cancer Society is an organization near to our hearts as we have always been active participants in Relay For Life each year. For more information on the American Cancer Society, click here.  This year we are participating in an American Cancer Society event that is new to the San Luis Obispo area: “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.”  On Saturday, October 22nd 2011 the Paws for the Cause/Animal Care Clinic team will be participating at 9 a.m. for the noncompetitive, 3- to 5-mile events.  If you would like to find out more information, join our team, or donate to our team then please visit our ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Site!

Each holiday season we choose a charity we want to highlight.  In the past this has included Heifer International’s Arc project and Women At Risk. Throughout the year, as various dates come up, many of our employees have worked with Brighten A Corner to help renovate deserving projects.

We really enjoy having students from the Grizzly Academy Charter School coming to volunteer with us. They are always ready to pitch in a hand by restraining and comforting pets in our care. By job shadowing with us they earn credits, but we think we get the better end of the deal!

We are always looking for more ways to get involved! If you have any ideas for us or would like to become more involved in our current activities, please let us know.
