Reception / Lobby
No doubt you will see our friendly customer service staff first as you enter our hospital. Our entire team is trained at a level to assist you in whatever is needed for you and your pet. Our diets are in front to either side as you enter, let us know if you can’t find what you need.
-
Reception / Lobby 2
After being greeted you can look around to find our waiting area. It is comfortably designed with partitions, so that if your pet or another’s is antisocial (or maybe too social), one may hide around the corner. We have reading material, hot coffee, tea, cocoa and bottled water always available. A scale is level with the ground, so your pets don’t need to step up if achy joints are a problem.
-
Reception / Lobby 3
Just off the end of the room is an outdoor patio area if you want some fresh air, but don’t let your pet relieve themselves too soon, we may need that urine!
-
Self Serve Spa
If you find it a hassle to give your pet a bath at home but don’t want to deal with the cost of a professional groomer, come check out our self-serve spa! We have 3 raised bathtubs, so you don’t have to bend over. Each has stairs as well, so lifting your 80-pound lab doesn’t need to be a problem. We provide you with brushes, towels, and shampoo. The best part is you don’t have to worry about cleaning up the mess. No more clogging your own drains at home with pet hair!
-
Self Serve Spa 2
Our bathing system allows you to use less water as the hose recirculates the soapy water into a gentle massage for your hairy friend. Change the intensity of the spray to clean away the dirt, grime and extra hair. Then simply rinse for a sqeaky clean. An additional little room has a blower for those pets who don’t mind the air. Our staff is always willing to help you out, whether it means lifting a large dog or giving a demonstration on how to use the bathing facility.
-
Exam Rooms
If you come in for an exam to see a doctor or veterinary medical assistant this is the other primary room you will see. We have 3 exam rooms available and may be in use all at once! Our exam rooms are a comfortable place where our doctors can discuss preventive care and treatments with you. Aside from coming here for exams our veterinary medical assistants may ask you to come into a room so that we can admit your pet for a drop-off exam or lodge stay without the distraction of other clients and pets.
-
Exam Rooms 2
The exam room tables can extend or drop down depending on if you have a large or small critter, optimizing the space we have to work with. And our staff is always ready equipped with the tools they need whether that means drawing blood, ear cleaning demonstrations or giving out handouts on useful information. For our feline patients, we often dim the lighting and add a kitty pheromone to help ease any nerves.
-
Consult Room
The consult room has several purposes. A large window into the surgery room allows you to come take a look at what’s going on behind the scenes. Everyone is always welcome to come take a peek if we have surgeries going on.
-
Isolation Room
Our isolation room is located away from where all other dogs and cats stay in our hospital. It is also located at an end of the building that receives less traffic and is near a side door exit to the hospital. Patients are housed here for the day or for longer hospitalization stays when they have some type of illness that is contagious and could be easily transmitted to other pets, for example kennel cough or parvo virus.
-
Laboratory
A lot of time is spent here in our lab. Our veterinary medical technicians can often be found running infectious disease tests, ear cytology’s, and urinalysis’.
-
Laboratory 2
Although we send most of our labwork out to Idexx for analysis, we have the capabilities to many in-house tests. If need be comprehensive blood panels are run when results just can’t wait.
-
Pharmacy
Located behind Melissa is where we keep most of the medications that we dispense to our patients. It’s conveniently located near to our exam rooms so that we can quickly and easily get prescriptions ready to go. We try and keep on stock those things that we most often need. We are always willing to write a written prescription if requested and often call various prescriptions into neighboring pharmacies when specific formulations are needed. We also offer our online store with competitive pricing on shop-able items and home delivery.
-
Surgery Suite
Our surgery room is always kept clean for our surgeries. Anything from routine neuters and spays to exploratory and orthopedic surgeries may occur here. The viewing window allows anyone to checkout what’s going on here as everyone is welcome to watch.
-
Staff Lounge
The staff lounge allows our hard-working team members to take a breather in between patients and get a quick bite to eat. It’s a nice gathering place for our staff to relax. During the holidays beware and watch out for the multitude of chocolates and sweets up for grabs!
-
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Our intensive care unit (ICU), is used when we need to keep a close eye on our patients. Every animal recovers here when waking up from anesthesia, and usually remains for a couple hours on IV fluids until either ready to go home or awake enough to be moved into other hospital rooms. Whenever we feel the need to hospitalize a patient they also stay here, so that we can monitor their progress.
-
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) 2
A baby monitor stays here so that the live-in nurses on duty during the night can keep an extra ear open when not doing regular checks. The sliding glass door also allows our patients to have a little more peace and quiet when we have our occasional dog protesting treatment in the treatment room.
-
Treatment Room
The treatment room is by far the most heavily used room. We use this space for doing simpler things like toe nail trims, anal gland expressions, and ear cleanings. On procedure days, it’s not uncommon to see patients under anesthesia on both wet tables for various reasons. We perform many dental cleanings on our canine and feline patients, as well as tooth extractions, dental x-rays, and root canals when need be.
-
Treatment Room 2
You may also see patients getting prepped before moving into the surgery room. This is also the area where we prep, wrap and sterilize instruments for surgical procedures. Be prepared for some excitement in the air if you are taking a tour on a procedure day!
-
Ultrasound Room
Our ultrasound machine is something we are very proud to have! It has enabled our doctors to make some very interesting and also some not so happy diagnoses. We often come here to collect blood and urine for lab panels. Using the ultrasound machine to collect urine through cystocentesis instead of relying on urinary catheters and free-catch, aids us in making more accurate calls on issues dealing with urinary health.
-
Radiology Room
Our radiology room is where our veterinary medical technologists take x-ray images. Radiographs have become a vital tool for our doctors to make better-informed decisions and diagnoses.
-
Radiology 2
We are proud to have digital x-ray, which allows us to see images just seconds after they are taken! This generally means we get better quality images with decreased waiting time. We can even make a CD for you of your pet’s images.
-
Doctor Work Area/Library
When not doing the physical exams on patients, our doctors can usually be found here. It’s centrally located so they can always be kept updated of ongoing activities in the hospital. The library also is a place to research the current case at hand and read radiographs.
-
Cat Hospital
Our cat hospital room has 9 separate cages of varying sizes where our feline friends can stay when with us for medical services. We often close the door to make the cats happier when dogs in the facility are being a bit noisy. The walls surrounding the cat hospital are extra insulated to help sound proof the room from any barking dogs. Dr. Evans can also keep an extra eye on them through a window into the doctor’s office.
-
Dog Hospital
Dogs staying with us for the day or night for medical services stay in our dog suites in the dog hospital room.
-
Dog Hospital 2
For the various sizes of pets we encounter we have 4 large runs and 6 smaller cages. The walls around the dog hospital have extra insulation for those times when our visitors are a little too talkative.
-
Cat Lodge
Our cat lodge is strategically placed upstairs so that there is a sound buffer between them and the dogs downstairs. It’s a nice quiet room away from all the craziness that can go on elsewhere, often with nice quiet music playing all day.
-
Cat Lodge 2
Accommodations for our guests are very comfortable: with a perch to lie on and time spent in the open room to stretch their legs and play. Most of the cat condos can open up so there are multiple condos for one or more cats to enjoy.
-
Dog Lodge
Dog lodge consists of 3 rooms, one designated for large dogs, one for small dogs and a laundry/food preparation room. The runs can be opened up so that larger families of our canine friends can share their own space without being split up or to accommodate large breeds.
-
Dog Lodge 2
Our dog lodge has become quite popular among our clients, so much so that holidays fill up far ahead of time and weekends are often full. Dogs are let out to potty 4 times a day, and as long as they are sociable can play with other guests.
-
Dog Lodge 3
We pride ourselves that our facility is kept very clean and smells the same. And what better place to lodge your canine friend than on site of a veterinary hospital where we can care for them in case any medical need arises?!
-
Puppy Training Room
The puppy room is used for various uses. It got it’s name due to the fact that this is where we hold Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Etiquette classes in the evenings.
-
Puppy Training Room 2
We also use this room for staff training and our weekly staff meetings.
