We hope that you and your pets are staying healthy and doing well during these potentially stressful and confusing times.

We want to assure you that we are here for you and that we are doing everything we can to reduce risk to our patients and clients during this COVID-19 situation.  Our office will remain open and our online presence will be available to you unless we are instructed otherwise by public officials.

As a medical facility, we already have strict infection control policies in place, but please rest assured that we have increased our attention to detail, particularly as it pertains to human contact with surfaces.  We are enforcing a strict policy that any team member showing any suspicious signs is to stay at home.

We have options available to you if you are concerned about social distancing.  We are offering all of the following:

  • Telemedicine:  You can access ACC for a veterinary consultation for your pet through the internet.  We should have this capability ready by noon on Wednesday 3/18/20 using Facetime and Zoom.  Our team can help you navigate these tools and set up the consults – just give us a call.
  • For scheduled appointments, you may set up an appointment and call us when you arrive. We will send a veterinary nurse out to the car to get your pet’s medical history and then bring your pet into the building for examination, diagnostics and/or treatment as needed. Our doctors may call you to discuss findings and plans or may come out to the car to talk with you – but you can stay in your car.
  • To order and pick up medication from Animal Care Clinic, just call us.  We are happy to take credit card payment over the phone and bring medications out to you in the car.
  • For online prescription and diet refills, we recommend you use our Home Delivery service through Covetrus (can be accessed via our website at www.animalcareclinicslo.com .  This will allow you to order and fill medications and diets with no need for a written or faxed prescription from us, making the process smoother and faster.

If you are sick:  please stay home and consult your physician.  We ask that you do not come into ACC.  We can still care for your pets!  Use our telemedicine option or have a friend or family member who is not ill bring in your pet and we can call you so you will feel as if you were present.

There is no evidence that dogs or cats can get COVID-19 coronavirus.  Both the CDC and the American Veterinary Medical Association report no cases in pets worldwide.  Pets showing respiratory signs or diarrhea should be evaluated by a DVM and can be tested for Coronavirus and a myriad of other agents that can cause these signs.

We urge you to use the CDC  (https://www.cdc.gov/) and WHO (https://www.who.int/) as sources for the most accurate information about COVID-19 and how you should respond.

Hang in there and stay safe.  Know that we are here for you.
