photo 1Say “hi” to Bug.  This feisty little Dachshund developed a severe infection around one of his upper canine teeth.  The infection was so severe that it eroded the bone and entered his nasal cavity!  This is called an oronasal fistula and is a common problem in Dachshunds.  photo 2Repair requires surgery – a tricky proposition in the mouth.  Bug’s situation was complicated by an infection with a bacteria that was resistant to many antibiotics.  Both Dr. Bisson and Dr. Markoff worked with Bug and we are happy to report he is fully healed now!  No more pain and no more sneezing!
